CNC PP (Polypropylene) PROCESSING

Known as PP, Polypropylene is a thermoplastic polymer that is renowned for its anti-acidic properties. It is semi-crystalline, similar to polyethylene (PE) but more resistant and rigid, with a higher melting point.

Polypropylene is characterized by high tensile strength, low density, good thermal and abrasion resistance, strong resistance to chemical agents, weldability and is normally used with temperatures between +5°C and +90°C.

Compared to technopolymers, it has lower mechanical resistances: traction, bending, compression, abrasion etc.

PP (PolYpropylene) properties

  • High chemical resistances
  • Easy to use both for machine tools and in welding
  • Good temperature resistance

PP (Polypropylene) fields of application

Polypropylene is widely used in production of components for the chemical, galvanic, and petrochemical industries due to its high resistance to acids and alkalis, as well as its higher temperature resistance compared to PVC, making it suitable for use in the automotive and packaging sectors too.
Tanks and containers, components in contact with acids, part of pumps, brush holders, rings and flanges are just a few examples of items produced in PP.
