PEEK is an advanced thermoplastic material, considered a technopolymer due to its outstanding mechanical properties and chemical resistance.

Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) is a colorless organic thermoplastic polymer and belongs to the <polyaryletheketone family.

It is suitable for use in a wide range of temperatures, including both hot and cold, and is used in many industries including food, aerospace, automotive, military defence, electronics, petrochemicals, nuclear, hydroelectric, biomedical and cable manufacturing.

This technopolymer is considered to be one of the most versatile and performing in critical applications such as mechanics, aviation and petrochemicals, thanks to its high temperature resistance and low permeability to aggressive substances. Compared to other plastics, it has the highest coefficient of tensile strength and it can remain functional at temperatures up to 250°C for a long period of time without losing its properties.

FILLED PEEK

This polymer material can be upgraded with the addition of small amounts of PTFE, graphite and carbon fibre. These nanoparticles enable the material to retain its superior properties, to acquire a high mechanical resistance as well as to withstand to wear, abrasion and tearing.

Natural PEEK-GF30 (burnished grey)

PEEK-GF30, polyether ether ketone filled 30% glass fibre, has a higher level of rigidity, dimensional stability and creep resistance compared to base polymer PEEK. This material offers its best performance in static structural applications that require to withstand heavy static loads at high temperatures. On the other hand, its use in sliding applications must be carefully evaluated due to the presence of glass fibres that can cause an abrasive effect on the counterpart.

PEEK-CA30 black

PEEK-CF30, polyether ether ketone filled 30% carbon fibre, has higher mechanical properties compared to PEEK-GF30, including a higher rigidity and creep resistance, as well as an outstanding wear resistance. Furthermore, carbon fibers increase thermal conductivity by 3.5 times compared to virgin PEEK, allowing for rapid heat dissipation from the sliding surface.
